The author developed a textbook for high-school students of English. The book represents an integrated vocation-focused language course. This elective course focuses on the activities associated with the penal system and shows its relationship with the criminal law. By applying the systemic functional approach to the structure of Legal English: Law, Crime, and Punishment, the author outlines its career-guidance framework. The outcome-based activities aim at mastering the foreign language, consolidating practical skills in research, and performing career-guidance practice in criminal and penal law spheres. The career-guidance potential of the textbook offers possibilities of career awareness, career-oriented education, and professional recruitment.
