The educational environment constitutes multiply challenges to approach learning. It has been demonstrated that the emotional components take an important part in the educational process, being this an important issue that motivates this project. Starting from a bibliographic review from various academic magazines it is proposed to investigate in which extend the emotional intelligence in conjunction with the social support and the self –concept influences in the academic performance of the students in the different levels of the educational system As regards the emotional intelligence we reach divergent results, as a result of a variety of instruments used to evaluate it. When we correlate emotional intelligence with social support and self –concept we realize that it has a significant influence in the educational performance of primary, secondary, and high-level students.
