Venice as a bridge between different After many centuries, Venice became a meeting place fordiverse cultures and a point of contact between traditions of theWest and the East. This style is admired by the authors of twomodern monographs Katya Margolis and Dmitry Bavilsky. Everyone does it with same language tools, but in different waysin an era of the Internet. Our task is to explore the style of theauthors. Dmitry Bavilsky unexpectedly and boldly draws aparallel between a venetian aesthetics and a socialist dream ofthe “City of the Sun”. During Venetian utopianism studies, Bavilsky describes the mythological images of the city. Themeeting place of cultures is Biennale, which unites the culturalproject. And the place of acquaintance with the current culture. In the book by Katya Margolis the intersections of Russian andVenetian cultures are described through cinematic interests, themain role is played by the human factor, communication witherudite people, education as a bridge between cultures.
