Most of the heavy industry enterprises in Ukraine operate on fossil fuels and are morally and physically obsolete. As a result of coal combustion to generate energy and meet the needs of industry, the concentration of technogenic carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is increasing every year. The issues of resolving environmental problems have been and are being repeatedly raised by the global community, aware of the possible consequences for the existence of mankind. Climate standards around the world are becoming more demanding and stringent by the day and require urgent measures to reduce industrial carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. To tackle the challenges of climate change and global warming, steps must be taken to rapidly capture carbon dioxide and store it without contact with the environment. A promising direction on the way to decarbonization of the energy sector of Ukraine is the use of technogenic carbon dioxide in the oil and gas industry to intensify the development of depleted oil and gas fields. Based on the simulation results, a high technological efficiency of the introduction of carbon dioxide injection technologies was established in order to regulate the process of flooding of productive layers and production wells. The results of the studies carried out indicate that if the technology of injecting carbon dioxide into the reservoir of the V-16 horizon of the Hadyach oil and gas condensate field is introduced, the final gas recovery factor increases by 2.95 %, and condensate – by 1.24 % of the residual hydrocarbon reserves. The introduction of secondary and tertiary methods for increasing hydrocarbon recovery using carbon dioxide will reduce the burden on the environment and increase the efficiency of developing proven reserves in the face of a significant shortage of hydrocarbon raw materials in Ukraine.
