Acute cholecystitis that must not be operated
Abstract
Viral hepatitis A still endemic in African continent and this type of hepatitis can be complicated by an acute cholecystitis that is a common pathology in surgery. Acute cholecystitis imposes usually urgent management including a cholecystectomy, the only guarantee that can save the vital prognosis. However, a particular form of acute cholecystitis seems to particularly affect the African continent and is an exception to this rule. This work illustrates the case of a form of acute cholecystitis for which it was necessary to avoid any surgical procedure and that had a good outcome after a successful conservative management.
