Perspectives of the Economic Association Among the East Asian Powers: The Connection of Japan With China and South Korea
Abstract
The study of the relationships between Japan and the other two East Asian powers, namely China and South Korea is the main purpose of this essay. The main features of the connections among Japan and China and among Japan and South Korea are exposed in the paper, taking into account the strategic implications of the studied area in the contemporary geopolitics. The role of the Unites States in the historical background of their associations is a main topic to explain the evolution of their interactions. In the same way, the economic progress recorded by these countries, is an important issue analyzed in this document, pointing out the surprising force of the Japanese economy, the rise of China in the world arena and the difficult situation faced by the divided Korean peninsula which impact South Korean plans to project its strength as an emerging power. Thus Japan as an economic power has a key role in the national scenes of China and South Korea.
