Swallowing difficulties in adolescents: A case report and suggestion of treatment model

Abstract

Abstract Dysphagia or difficulty swallowing in childhood necessitates multi‐disciplinary evaluation and management. This case report highlights the teamwork required for diagnostic work‐up to distinguish functional dysphagia from organic and psychiatric conditions in an adolescent girl. Treatment model based on cognitive behavioral therapy is also presented.
