Abstract

Socially responsible investing, as an investment strategy which seeks to consider both the increase of an investment's financial returns and the achievement of certain social goals, today is a global phenomenon and one of the strongest trends in socially responsible business. Its ultimate result is that shareholders and investors have the discretionary power to force companies to become more attentive and dedicated to the treatment of social, environmental and ethical problems and principles, thereby realizing their potential to change not only a particular industry, but the entire economy as well.
