AL-Wajeeh NS, Hajrezaei M, Al-Henhena N, et al. Drug Des Devel Ther. 2017;11:995–1009. At the author’s request, we, the Editors and Publisher of Drug Design, Development and Therapy, have retracted the following article. Following publication of the article, concerns were raised about the duplication of images from Figures 3 and 9 with images from other unrelated articles. Specifically, The image for Figure 3F, HD, Kidney, has been duplicated with the image for Figure 7b, Vehicle, Kidney, from AL-Wajeeh NS, Hajerezaie M, Noor SM, et al. The gastro protective effects of Cibotium barometz hair on ethanol-induced gastric ulcer in Sprague-Dawley rats. BMC Vet Res. 2016;13:27. https://doi.org/10.1186/s12917-017-0949-z. The image for Figure 9, G6, has been duplicated with the image for Figure 3, BAX, Omeprazole, from Wong JY, Abdulla MA, Raman J, et al. Gastroprotective Effects of Lion’s Mane Mushroom Hericium erinaceus (Bull.:Fr.) Pers. (Aphyllophoromycetideae) Extract against Ethanol-Induced Ulcer in Rats. Evid Based Complement Alternat Med. 2013;2013:492976. https://doi.org/10.1155/2013/492976. In addition, the images for Figure 9, G1 and G7, have been duplicated. When approached for an explanation, the authors were cooperative and advised they were unable to provide an adequate explanation for the duplicated images and the original data for the study was no longer available. As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, the authors agreed the best course of action was to retract the article and the Editor and Publisher agreed with this decision. We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and COPE guidelines. The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
