Recent research on the biological activity of polyacrylamide represents a significant advance in science. Long-standing applications for the chemical compound polyacrylamide include wastewater treatment and food production. Recent research has revealed that this substance has a biological activity that may be exploited to control the functioning of other biological systems. According to certain studies, polyacrylamide may interact with proteins and other molecules to change their function. For instance, it may have an impact on proteases' ability to degrade proteins. Receptors, which are molecules that react to outside signals, can also be affected by their activity. Additionally, the study group discovered that polyacrylamide can function as a scaffold for cells, offering a framework for the synthesis of new tissue and organs.
