Atención primaria en Estomatología, su articulación con el médico de la familia
Abstract
Este trabajo, de carácter metodológico, pretende interrelacionar la atención primaria de salud bucal con el médico y la enfermera de la familia, y se apoya principalmente en los grupos básicos de trabajo (GBT), unidad organizativa que dirige la atención primaria de salud, con enfoque asistencial, docente-investigativo. Se profundiza en la concepción del médico y la enfermera de la familia y la articulación del estomatólogo de atención primaria. Figuran además aspectos generales relacionados con la composición y estructura de los GBT, las instituciones de salud con atención estomatológica y los niveles de atención y de servicios, según la complejidad de éstos. Se señalan las actividades del estomatólogo en la comunidad, en el consultorio, en el policlínico, en la clínica estomatológica y en el hospital. Finalmente se exponen las experiencias y perspectivas de la atención estomatológica. Para ello es fundamental que en cada GBT exista un estomatólogo que intervenga en el proceso de formación y superación del especialista en Medicina General Integral, así como en la planificación, organización, dirección y control relacionados con la ejecución de los objetivos del Programa Nacional de Atención Estomatológica Integral de la Población.This paper has a methodological character and tries to interrelate primary oral health care with the family physician and nurse. It is mainly supported by the basic working groups, which are organizational units that manage primary health care with an assistance, teaching and investigative approach. The concept of the family physician and nurse and their articulation with the stomatologist at the primary care level are deeply analyzed. General aspects connected with the composition and structure of the basic working groups, the health institutions with dental care, and with the levels of attention and services are dealt with according to their complexity. The activities carried out by the stomatologist in the community, at the polyclinic, the dental clinic, and the hospital are stressed. The experiences and prospects of dental care are exposed. To achieve this interrelation it is necessary to have a stomatologist taking part in the training and upgrading process of the specialist in Comprehensive General Medicine, as well as in the planning, organization, management, and control related to the fulfillment of the objectives of the National Program of Comprehensive Dental Care to the Population.
