MUDANÇAS SOCIOECONÔMICAS E AMBIENTAIS DA POPULAÇÃO RIBEIRINHA NA BACIA HIDROGRÁFICA DO RIO ANIL, SÃO LUÍS-MA

Abstract

The “Projeto Rio Anil” represented an urbanization project that aimed the removal of the shantytowns in the mangrove areas placed in the Anil river’s border replacing the families to dwelling lots. The aim was evaluate the socio-environmental sustainability of the project of the Anil river left border revi- talization highlighting the changes and its effects along the time, particularly with the replaced population and the environment resources. Thus, this work evaluated the positive and negative socioeconomical aspects of the population that live on the border of the river through indicators used before and during the perform of the project and analyze the main changes in the natural resources of the area. The scenario resulted from this situation imposes the implementa- tion of environmental programs as extremely necessary to the fulfillment of the control of the various planned actions regarding specifically with natural and social environment care.
