Comparation of fix time signal plan and real time traffic management at the intersection Bulevar oslobodilaca Cacka - Vladike Nikolaja Velimirovica in Cacak

Abstract

In terms of efficiency and safety, existing traffic menagement solutions based on historical data, do not completely meet user demand. Therefore, consideration of new tehnologies in field of traffic engineering is necessary. One of the possible solution is implementation of detectors sistems in traffic management. This technology is already used for a long time in many developed country, while in Serbia began to be applied in recent years. This paper presents an analysis of detectors sistems implementation on intersection P13 (Bulevar oslobodilaca Cacka-Vladike Nikolaja Velimirovica) in Cacak street network. At the aforementioned intersection, in present condition fix time signal plan, based on hictorical data, is applied. In order to examine the justification of the detector system implementation, both solutions are evaluated according to the delay and level of service criteria. For the purpose of efficiency evaluation VISSIM, software for traffic microsimulation, was used.
