Abstract
On the radio market in Poland there are many academic radio stations. They constitute an important tool in the training of young journalists and they have a big impact on building the image of the university. The aim of this article is a general characterization, classification and review of the university radio stations in Poland, including presentation of the history of student radio broadcasting in Poland. The article presents also typical programs of student radio stations, their different functions and its academic importance.
