A Comparative Study of Strategic Programs of Universities affiliated to the Ministry of Science and Medical Sciences Universities in Terms of viewpoints, Missions and Values

Introduction: Strategic plans are a roadmap for the future of the university. Identifying the differences and similarities between Universities affiliated to the Ministry of Science and Medical Sciences Universities in terms of viewpoints, missions, and values. Methods: This was a qualitative research. Four strategic programs from Universities affiliated to the Ministry of Science and four from medical sciences universities were selected through convenience sampling. To analyze the strategic programs the content analysis by means of codification was applied. Results: The results indicated that in terms of viewpoint, Universities affiliated to the Ministry of Science and medical sciences Universities were simillar in 4 components and different in four other components; in terms of mission, in 4 components they were similar and in 6 components were different, and ultimately in terms of values in 5 components were similar and in 7 components were different. Conclusion: There are similarities and differences between Universities affiliated to the Ministry of Science and medical sciences universities in terms of viewpoint, mission and values. By examining the differences and similarities, these universities can come to an integration regarding viewpoint, mission and values.
