CLOSTRIDIUM DIFFICILE-ASSOCIATED DIARRHEA (LITERATURE REVIEW)
Abstract
Significance of C. difficile and A/B toxins produced by this bacteria was shown in the literature review on antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Problems concerning epidemiology, clinical symptomatology, complications from this disease, diagnostics as well as appropriate approaches to therapy were discussed. Antibiotic-associated diarrhea is a serious disease requiring careful and thoughtful approaches to antibiotic treatment. Risk of hospital-acquired antibiotic-associated diarrhea related to massive use of antimicrobial drugs in Russia and other countries makes this problem very important.
