Abstract

TRANSLATION OF LEGAL ACTS IN THE CONTEXT OF THEIR MULTI-LEVEL NATURE The main aim of the article is to discuss the problem of translating legal texts from the perspective of their multi-level nature. The need to distinguish the descriptive, normative, and presuppositional layers of legal acts, emphasized in legal doctrine, seems to strongly impact the translation strategy adopted by the translator. Starting from this assumption, the author finally formulates the thesis that the shape of the strategy mentioned earlier also affects the practice of interpretation and application of legal acts, which leads to formulating a postulate regarding the marking of the translation layer of a legal act.
