Social Networks and the Algerian society : the Advent of new practices and Behaviors

Abstract

Abstract: It has been revealed that the use of social networks by Algerians has considerably transformed communication and consumption practices in the Algerian society, thus exhibiting new socio-cultural trends. These social network platforms play a key role in the dissemination of information and the expression of opinions, which leads to radically changing the traditional social dynamics. Based on the above, it was deemed interesting to conduct a study with 363 Algerian Internet users for the purpose of highlighting the importance of adopting such digital tools, particularly in terms of daily interactions in daily life and content consumption. The outcomes of this survey revealed a growing dependence of users on social networks, thus indicating a growing influence of these networks on the behaviors and choices of citizens in various areas of their lives.
