Abstract : This study aims at identifying the use of mental imagery accompanied with performance to improve handball skills. Mental imagery is an important addition brought forth and utilized by the coach to develop athletic skill sets. Therefore, using mental imagery, in addition to other mental skills, is an important foundation to develop the athletes’ learning and development aspects. The study sample is comprised of 14 handball players using the experimental design method for two equal groups in order to identify development levels within the study sample. The researchers applied a set of skill exams in addition to the Mental imagery Scale in the athletic field in order to identify the number of differences in said tests between the control and experimental groups. The results demonstrated statistically significant differences in the levels of development of skill requirements between the two groups, in favor of the experimental group. In this regard, the researchers note that these results reflect the relative importance of using mental skills to improve handball players' practical abilities.
