ANALISIS EFEKTIVITAS BIAYA OBAT ALPRAZOLAM DAN DIAZEPAM PADA PASIEN DEPRESI DI RUMAH SAKIT JIWA PROVINSI SULAWESI TENGGARA

Abstract

Depression is a prolonged mood disorder that affects the entire mental process of a person, with a prevalence in the world population of 3 - 8% with 50% of cases occurring at a productive age of 20 – 50 years. In ratio, this disruption costs a large healthcare cost, so it is necessary to increase efficiency or use of funds more rationally. The objective of the study was to analyze the cost effectiveness of psychotropic drugs in depressed patients at mental hospital in Southeast Sulawesi province. This research used descriptive method with cross sectional study design. The effectiveness of treatment was analyzed using ACER (Average Cost Effectiveness Ratio) calculated based on the ratio of cost and % clinical outcomes of psychotropic drugs and ICER (Incremental Cost Effectiveness Ratio) calculated based on the ratio between the cost difference and the clinical outcome in both treatment groups. The results showed that the effectiveness of therapy and ACER values obtained in 35 patients with moderate and severe depression were alprazolam 1 mg, which was 45% (16,392), alprazolam 0.5 mg which was 33% (23,420), diazepam 2 mg and 5 mg was 0%. The ICER values are, -3,680 and -16,538, respectively. The cost-effective treatment for depression therapy is alprazolam 1 mg.
