After having raised the concept of political subjectivation and the way migration studies have highlighted the political subjectivity of migrants, the article examines the reflections of migrants involved in the mobilization of La Chapelle neighborhood in Paris in June and July 2015. While returning to the choice of migrants to position themselves as asylum seekers despite the encouragements by undocumented migrants to join their struggle for collective regularizations, these speeches underline the plurality of points of view of migrants, as well as the paradoxes of political autonomy in a context of heightened dependence.
