The peculiarities of the formation of connections of bicycle trails in recreational areas are investigated. An analysis of international experience in the organization of bicycle infrastructure in cities has been carried out. Architectural and planning organization of pedestrian roads has been analyzed, factors that influence the functional connections of bicycle trails, determine their design features and spatial and planning characteristics in recreational space have been identified. Ie-rarchy of cycling routes was discovered. The methods and stages of formation of cycle routes as connections between the main zones in cities and between the objects of recreational services are given. For the first time, the peculiarities of functional connections of bicycle trails in urban recreational areas have been identified and characterized. The regularities that must be taken into account when determining the form and layout of bicycle trails based on the features of the relief in the recreational areas of the city are analyzed. The generally accepted method of designing bicycle tracks and its stages are improved. Methods of rational designing of bicycle tracks in the recreation area are defined and theoretically substantiated. The model of the architectural and planning organization for the formation of bicycle routes in urban recreational zones was further developed. As part of the cycling infrastructure, it is proposed to create stops designed to provide additional content for recreation by bicycle. Thus the bicycle is used as a means of comfortable and fast movement, physical support of organism, psychological rest and balance of influence of natural environment, getting aesthetic impressions. The proposed stages of the technique of designing bicycle tracks in recreational areas, which involves the construction of a matrix, strategic sketch, elastic threads, separation and hierarchical distribution of different types of roads and their functional purpose
