To sense or dissent

Abstract

Interested in the therapeutic response that I usually predict in my chronically ill patients, I bring to the fore a phenomenon that is enigmatic in itself: the placebo effect. This issue has had ethical aspects, because in many clinical trials it is considered amoral to compare a potentially useful drug against an inert one.
