Iconography without Borders: To the Topic of Traveling Iconographers Beyond and In Bulgarian Teritory in the 17th - 18th Centuries [In Bulgarian]
Abstract
Borders, as geographical concepts, are not strictly fixed in the context of the Ottoman Empire, but there are a number of circumstances and conventions for possible travel and acceptance of orders, beyond the native places of the traveling iconographers. The paper marks creations of iconographers who visited Bulgarian territory in different periods during XVII and XVIII century. Attention is paid to the styles and specific qualities of icons and frescoes, preserved in churches and monasteries.
