La actividad musical de la orden jesuita en el Cuyo colonial: una primera aproximación

Abstract

This article studies the musical activities in the Jesuit College of Mendoza and the Jesuit Residence of San Juan (Cuyo) during colonial times. The study is based on colonial sources present in the archives of the cities of Mendoza and San Juan. It takes into account the registry of musicians, musical instruments and musical objects and analyzes the possible use and implications of this information, intending to give a first look at the importance of musical activity in this area and time.
