Abstract
Whether they cover two years (a mutiny in the Eighty Years War - Kattenberg) or seven years (Jewish persecution and trials of collaborators in the Netherlands and Belgium ‒ Wouters and Zurné) or deal with centuries (the water-board landowners of Rijnland and Schieland ‒ Van Tielhof and Belgian diplomats ‒ Leenders) the incidents, practices and developments considered in these articles all add something new to the historical debate and at the same time demonstrate the topicality of these historical questions. Of ze nu twee jaar (een muiterij in de Tachtigjarige Oorlog ‒ Kattenberg) of zeven jaar (Jodenvervolging en Daderprocessen in Nederland en België ‒ Wouters en Zurné) omvatten of eeuwen beslaan (de ingelanden van Rijnland en Schieland ‒ Van Tielhof en Belgische diplomaten ‒ Leenders) de in deze artikelen besproken gebeurtenissen, praktijken en ontwikkelingen voegen allemaal iets nieuws toe aan het historisch debat en demonstreren tegelijkertijd de actualiteit van deze historische kwesties.
