Knowing the information needs of farmers and ranchers is of great importance for the development of contextualized information literacy strategies that lead to raise the knowledge and consequently the productivity in the agricultural productions. Hence, the objective of the research is to determine information needs and information behavior of these through the case study of a CCS in the Calixto García municipality, Holguín province. Workshops, meetings, exchange visits and a semi-structured interview were held to a sample of 35 of the CCS associated producers and the results were represented in concept maps. It is concluded that producers require training in a variety of topics, according to the purpose of their productions and share their knowledge with those closest to them, capturing information producer to producer, from the board of directors and television.
