Developing Mathematics Module of System of Linear Equations with Two Variables (SPLDV) at SMK Negeri 1 Lamongan
Abstract
The success of mathematics teaching and learning activities, particularly in the context of the System of Linear Equations with Two Variables (SPLDV), is gauged by comprehension levels, material mastery, and student learning outcomes. Higher comprehension, mastery, and outcomes correlate with better learning success rates. SMK Negeri 1 Lamongan students encounter challenges in solving SPLDV problems, resulting in unsatisfactory test scores. Consequently, a media solution is sought to aid both teachers in facilitating learning and students in autonomously grasping the material. Thus, a developmental module for mathematics learning was devised, promoting critical and creative thinking among students. This module serves as a teaching resource employed by instructors in the learning process. The study's purpose was to develop and assess the feasibility of limited-scale trials for learning modules focusing on the material of two-variable linear equations. Employing the ADDIE model—Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation—data was gathered through questionnaires, observations, and interviews. Data analysis techniques were applied to assess the module's feasibility for material experts, learning media, and students. Validation outcomes from design expert validators yielded a 85.3% validity level under "very valid" criteria, while learning media experts achieved 85% and material experts achieved 86.7% validity, both under "very valid" criteria. Student responses garnered a 88% validity level, meeting criteria for practicality and engagement, drawn from limited-scale trial results and student response questionnaires. The data underscores the feasibility and interest of learning modules centered on the two-variable linear equation system material, as assessed by experts and student responses, supporting their application for SMK Negeri 1 Lamongan students.
