LOSSES IN MECHANIZED HARVEST OF CORN IN FAMILIAR AGRICULTURE OF THE ZONA DA MATA MINEIRA, BRAZIL
Abstract
This work aimed to evaluate the grain losses occurred during corn harvesting, from corn cultivated familiar agriculture areas of the Zona da Mata Mineira. The grain losses were determined for three displacement speeds and two rotations of the threshing cylinder. The natural losses, losses in the cutting platform, in the threshing system, in the separation and cleansing systems, and in the machine harvesting capability, were determined. No influence of displacement speed and cylinder rotation on the losses on the cutting platform and on the threshing system was observed. The lower displacement speed in the cylinder rotation of 850 rpm, presented smaller losses in the separation and cleansing systems. The working speed of 2.45 km h-1 and the rotation of 850 rpm, presented the greatest values of harvesting capacity.
