Échanges sociaux et mécanismes relationnels à São Paulo et Salvador

Abstract

This article describes the networks of impoverished individuals in two Brazilian metropolises and analyses how they are changing. It demonstrates how relational patterns and practices are associated to survival, life amelioration and social mobility. The article discusses the relational mechanisms involved in poverty and the (re)production, attenuation, or even overcoming of inequalities.
