The use of Telemedicine in the field of hospital management
Abstract
Introduction: Hospital management is understood as the organization, administration and operation of an institution that provides health services at the hospital level. The advancement of ICTs led to the emergence of Telemedicine, which has had a development in hospital management despite the high cost of accessing this infrastructure and the training of human resources. Objective: To systematize studies related to the application of Telemedicine in hospital management. Material and Methods: A systematic review was carried out in the following information sources: Pubmed/Medline, Dimensions, Google Scholar, Virtual Health Library (VHL) Regional, Latin American and Caribbean Health Science Literature Database (LILACS) and Scientific Electronic Library Online. Results: There is a large amount of software for hospital information management worldwide and developed countries lead the way in their implementation. China and the United States stand out in the amount of research, and there is a tendency for an increase in the number of publications in the series of years studied. Conclusions: In the studies included in this research, it was demonstrated that Telemedicine is increasingly necessary in hospital management, because even though it is a costly investment, it is very necessary to achieve more efficient health systems and services with greater coverage.
