Nitrogen is the most demanding nutrient to maize (Zea mays L.) and its low availability has beenobserved in several tropical soils. This research objectified to evaluate the effect of sources and doses of cover nitrogenon maize during the second season in the no-tillage system. Experimental design was randomized blocks in a 2 x 5factorial scheme and four replications, totaling ten treatments composed by two nitrogen sources (urea and ammoniumsulfate) and five nitrogen doses (0, 20, 40, 60 and 80 kg ha-1), and four replications per each treatment. Ear length, eardiameter, grains per row, rows in ear, grains in ear, 100 grains weight and yield were evaluated. The hybrid evaluatedin this research did not present significant response to sidedressing nitrogen.
