美國的主要檔案鑑定思想與理論 The Development of Archival Appraisal Theory in America

Abstract

美國檔案界自1940 年代開始論述其檔案鑑定思想，歷經多位學者的努力已發展出一套完整的鑑定理論與架構，不僅成為當今鑑定理論的主流思想，更對許多國家的鑑定實務工作產生重大的影響。本文以美國檔案鑑定思想之發展先後，依序陳述各個時期重要學者之鑑定理論或觀點，藉以了解這些鑑定理論的特點以及對近代檔案鑑定的影響。Since 1940, many archivists in America have devoted their effort to build up the theory of archival appraisal and make significant contribution. Their viewpoint are not only the mainstream of the discussion of appraisal, but also influence the practical work in archives in many countries. This paper aims to introduce and discuss the development of archival appraisal viewpoints in America in order to understand their characteristics and its impact on the work of archival appraisal.
