Features of Formation of the Methodical Apparatus Headings of the Section "Transport" tematic Navigator of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine
Abstract
The purpose of the study is to investigate the detailing of the rubrics of the section of the thematic navigator "Transport" with a focus on the full version of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine Rubricator and the formation ofa methodical apparatus of the rubrics of the section with the obligatory fixation of the connections of one’s own classification system with the UDC. The research methodology is based on the use of general scientific and special research methods (generalization, systematic, classification, descriptive). Scientific novelty. The article examines the issue of detailing the section of the thematic navigator of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine "Transport" and equipping its rubrics with the appropriate methodological apparatus, as well as the process of deepeningthe system of correspondence between the Rubric of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine and UDC. It has been found that mandatory recording of the corresponding UDC headings in the navigator’s entries significantly facilitates and improves the process of scientific processing of documents according to two classification schemes, ensures the uniformity of construction of UDC indexes in the section, optimizes a multi-faceted systematic approach to revealing the contentof documents. Conclusions. Detailing and careful formation of the methodical apparatus of the headings of the thematic navigator, in particular definition and fixingin the descriptions of the headings of the corresponding headings of UDC, determine the quality of scientific processing of documents necessary for effective functioning of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine information retrieval system.
