Synthesis of palladium magnetic nanoparticles decorated on carbon nanosphere was carried out by green method. The phytochemicals like polyphenols, saponins, steroids and flavonoids present in the shoot extract of Chenopodium album Linn., ease the reduction of Pd+2 to Pd0. The synthesized green catalyst was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) which inferred the presence of 70–90 nm sphere shaped particles distributed evenly on the carbon surface. The catalyst Pd/Fe3O4 was further characterized by XRD and FTIR. The synthesized catalyst was used in Suzuki Miyaura coupling reaction with aryl halides and methoxy phenylboronic acid in presence of potassium phosphate and 1,4-dioxane at 90 °C. The CC coupled products were characterized by 1H NMR. The catalyst was recycled and used in cross coupling reaction to check the efficiency. The results indicate that the catalyst was active up to two cycles and after that it loses efficiency.
