Background and Objectives: The article discusses the methodological recommendations for teachers and experimental researchers on metrological support of measurements and the correct use of units of physical quantities when reading courses in the theory of communication and radio measurements and conducting practical classes. The method of calculating new standards of radio engineering units of measurements based on modern scientific and technical achievements and fundamental physical constants is discussed. Materials and Methods: Modern measurements of physical quantities use two main international systems of units – Metric and SI, historically related to each other. The task of forming a holistic idea of the origin of the main physical units of measurement is posed. This material is rarely discussed in the literature. Results: It has been shown how the transition from physical quantities to the apparatus of fundamental physical constants reflects the transition from classical physics to modern general theoretical concepts and enables one to create a simpler and at the same time the most fundamental definition of the entire system of SI units to introduce formulas for the exact calculation of radio engineering units, including magnetic quantities. Conclusion: The SI system of units is devoid of the division of units of measurement into basic and derived ones, and provides the utmost accuracy of measuring standards for communication systems.
