Diabetes mellitus was a metabolic disease which is characterized by hyperglycemia due to insulin secretion dysfunction. This research was conducted to understand DM type 2 patients quality of life in PKU Muhammadiyah hospital Bantul, Yogyakarta. This research was carried out by cross-sectional design with taking patients data prospectively during October – December 2013. The research subjects were out-patients of diabetes mellitus type 2 in PKU Muhammadiyah hospital Bantul who had taken oral anti diabetic at least 6 months prior to adherence measurement. The subjects who met inclusive criteria were 56 diabetes mellitus patients type 2. They were classified into two groups namely: 24 patients of monotherapy group and 32 patients of combination therapy group. Data gathering was conducted by an interview and adherence was measured by Diabetes Quality of Life Clinical Trial Quesionnaire (DQLCTQ) dan Time Trade Off (TTO). The research result showed that the patients quality of life (DQLCTQ) there are significant differences between the two groups in the domain of satisfaction and treatment satisfaction. Likewise for quality of life (TTO) there was no significant different between monotherapy and combined therapy.
