De las fuentes y los modelos del Siervo libre de amor: algunas conexiones con la literatura medieval francesa de índole penitencial y confesional
Abstract
This article tries to shed some light on the still unresolved problem of the sources and models of Juan Rodríguez del Padrón’s Siervo libre de amor. Its main purpose is to suggest that some of the literary devices that articulate, both structurally and in imaginary terms, the Siervo, are somewhat associated with the tradition of the penitential treaties and with that of the Voies de paradis, so fruitful in the French literature of the 13th-15th centuries, which form a literary and cultural realm to which Rodríguez del Padrón was not a stranger at all.
