Abstract

Restoring Death. Some Psychoanalytical Approaches This short essay opens with the Freudian theoretical speculation about the death drive and the further contributions made by Jacques Lacan. After examining the reading of Hamlet by Ettore Perrella, it will be discussed how these authors have tried to restore the importance it deserves to death. Specifically we will come to consider Lacan’s thoughts on being-for-the-death, Perrella’s rejection of the Lacanian tragical ethics and Freud’s remarks on caducity.
