The article analyzes labor migration as a complex process at the stage of its dynamic growth in Ukraine as well as worldwide. Socio-economic development at the end of the XX – at beginning of the XXI century provokes significant migration growth in the world. World population estimate shows that more than 3 % of people lives outside the country of origin, including about 12 million refugees and officially registered asylum seekers. Migration growth is observed in the era of fast-growing globalization labor. As a result, international labor migration policy and its regulation is becoming an urgent issue. However, the implementation of the mechanisms of international labor migration regulation is only possible due to their accurate theoretical background and methods of their use. Therefore, it is important to outline the definition of «the mechanisms of international labor migration regulation», to identify their main components and investigate their peculiarities in the modern domestic economy. Ukraine is fully engaged in global migration and is known to be one of the biggest donor countries in the world. It is a transit country with more than 10 migratory routes. Consequently, migration processes management has become a primary concern. The world practice confirms the importance of strengthening the state regulation of international labor migration in Ukraine. Therefore, the migration policy influences significantly labor potential. It is an integral part of general demographic policy and is seen as an independent element only in order to specify the measures of population movement regulation.
