A recent study of Early Medieval pottery in Alsace and in Bade land leads us to consider the possibility of a grouping together of pottery workshops in the seventh century. In order to test this hypothesis, established on the basis of a primarily technological and typo-chronological approach to the artefacts, 338 pottery samples have been analysed in a laboratory and have been the object of a geochemical study. These analyses have indeed comforted the initial proposition, clarifying certain points, bringing nuances to others.
