New acridone alkaloids from Ugandan Vepris trichocarpa

Abstract

Ugandan Vepris trichocarpa sampled for this study yielded two undescribed acridone alkaloids here named trichouganda A (1), a 2‑methoxy derivative of evoxanthine (2), and trichouganda B (4), a 6‑methoxy derivative of 1,3,5-trimethoxy-10-methyl acridone. In addition, the known tecleanthine (3), tecleanone (5), and 1-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-propanetriol (6) were identified from the plant.
