Only minute quantities of cyclopeptides obtained from natural resources restricted researchers to investigate their biological profile in detail, considering the wide spectrum of bioactivities associated with these natural compounds and in order to obtain a potent bioactive compound in good yield in a convenient and economical manner, an attempt has been made to synthesize cyclic peptides in the laboratory. In this study, it was of interest to synthesize a natural proline-rich Cyclic Hexapeptide Dichotomins J by coupling of tripeptide Boc- Ile-Phe-Leu-OH and Tyr-Ala Gly-OMe followed by cyclization of linear polypeptide fragment. Structure of synthesized cyclopeptide was confirmed by detailed spectral analysis including FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS and elemental analysis. From the results of biological evaluation, it was concluded that newly synthesized cyclopeptide possessed good antifungal, antimicrobial and anthelmintic activity.
