LA VIDA DE ESPIRIDÓN DE LEONCIO DE NEÁPOLIS: ALGUNAS OBSERVACIONES SOME OBSERVATIONS ABOUT LEONTIUS OF NEAPOLIS' LIFE OF SPYRIDON
Abstract
El trabajo presenta argumentos para determinar que Leoncio de Neápolis escribió su Vida de Juan el limosnero por sugerencia del Arzobispo de Chipre y no por la del mismo Juan; que la Vida de Espiridón tampoco surge por pedido de Juan sino del Arzobispo Arcadio de Chipre; que es anterior a 641 pero no hay fecha post quem; que la Vida de Simeón no tiene por qué ser posterior a Espiridón y Juan; que el texto leonciano de Espiridón es el que van den Ven llamó "Vida II".This work presents arguments in order to determine tha Leontius of Neapolis has written his Life ofJohn the Almsgiver because of the suggestion s the Archbischop of Cyprus but not because of the suggestion of John himself; that the Life of Spyridon has not been written at the request of John but at the request of the Archbischop Arcadius of Cyprus; that this text is prior to 641, but there is no date post quem; that the Life ofSymeon the foul has no to be subsequent to Spyridon and John; that the Leontius' text of Spyridon is that which van den Ven named "Vita II".
