Walnut Economy Promotion: A Case Study of Kapisa Province, Afghanistan

Abstract

This paper studies the walnut economy promotion in Kapisa province of Afghanistan for insuring opportunities such as full Employment, Local economic development, reducing immigration, increasing Quality of life, Peace and prosperity and Quality of Education as dependent variables as well as potential opportunity of walnut economy promotionas independent variable. The objectives are to find the socioeconomic impact of walnut gardening on people’s life, increase income per capita and analyze the ways of exporting walnut production toward national and international markets. In this study, both qualitative and quantitative methodologies are combined to collect data from fields, local markets, libraries, websites and social media. The problems are different aspects of daily life such as: Unemployment, leaving education and immigration of young generation due to poverty, joining into war groups for salary, etc. At the end some recommendations are proposed as solutions.
