In the tenth anniversary since Spain entered the then demoninated CEE, this paper analizes, by way of studying the foreign sector, the main repercussions that this integration has had upon the country’s economy. Special attention will be paid to how broader commercial and financial liberalization policies have affected both the magnitude and characteristics of trade flows and the financing of the traditional deficit in the nation’s current account.
