The purpose of the article is to substantiate the expediency of professionally oriented teaching of the humanities, and the task is to investigate the interaction of the principles of teaching the humanities. The principle of professional orientation, which has a subjective and object interpretation, is theoretically substantiated. Professional orientation is considered in two aspects: as the formation of certain personality traits and as profiling the content of academic disciplines. Subjective interpretation of professional orientation presupposes the orientation of future specialists on the formation of social and psychological orientation in professional activity. The objective interpretation of the principle of professional orientation concerns the combination of socio-economic, fundamental and special training. The peculiarities of the principle of integration in the context of the professional orientation of the humanities are substantiated and revealed. One of the most important aspects of the connection of knowledge in the system of vocational education is the profiling and interconnection of humanities and professional knowledge. The whole system of knowledge should be presented from the standpoint of integrating the content of professional training of future professionals. Profiling is considered as a purposeful realization of interdisciplinary connections of multicycle disciplines. It is determined that the reason for the low level of professional orientation of the humanities are: organizational and methodological aspect (intense content of the curriculum, insufficient amount of professionally oriented material, insufficient amount of educational and methodological literature); personal and psychological aspect (time spent searching for materials of professional content, inability to operate with professional categories for practical application and insufficient understanding of the need for professional orientation). The highest result of interdisciplinary connections is integration, as the creation of a new integrity. Integration is achieved by merging elements of different disciplines into a single one. The interaction of principles is realized through the introduction of elective disciplines of the humanities.
