The contribution of the librarians of the Odessa (Novorossiysky) university to the world science

Abstract

The article shows the valuable contribution of the workers of the Scientific Library of the Novorossiysky University to the library science. Though almost unknown to the wide circles of the librarian community the personalities of the librarians of the Scientific Library played a significant role in the process of recognition, formation and development of the library science in general and namely of the University Library. Special attention is paid to the activities of the Odesa bibliographical society established by the director of the library P.S. Shesterikov.
