EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF SEID AZIM SHIRVANI

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the educational activities of the Azerbaijani thinker Seyid Azim Shirvani. The works of Seyid Azim Shirvani in the literary and philosophical history of Azerbaijan in the 19th century are distinguished by their uniqueness and universality. Seyid Azim Shirvani lived at a special time in the history of Azerbaijan, and all the contradictions of his times are reflected in his life and work. Seyid Azim Shirvani occupies a special place in the development of national culture and education. As a great educator, he applied new methods in school teaching, studied the life and work of Azerbaijani poets, as well as the history of Shamakhi. The great patriot and enlightener Sayyid Azim Shirvani, despite his constrained financial situation, stubbornly fought for the enlightenment of the nation and its liberation from religious ignorance. He fell victim to persecution by Muslim clerics and royal officials. With his works, he fought against the ignorance and backwardness of people, advocating innovation in teaching and educating the younger generation.
