Abstract Background Wrist joint tuberculosis(WJ-TB)is a rare manifestation of osteoarticular tuberculosis(OAT).Delayed diagnosis is common and often leads to postponed treatment, resulting in complications such as joint stiffness and persistent pain in the affected limb. Case presentation A 50-year-old man presented with symptoms in the wrist joint suggestive of WJ-TB.Initially, he was diagnosed with traumatic arthritis. However, following a series of diagnostic tests, the final diagnosis of tuberculous arthritis was confirmed. The patient underwent effective treatment, which led to a marked improvement in his condition. Conclusions WJ-TB is a treatable condition.Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are essential to prevent joint destruction and maintain function in patients with OAT.
